What a difference new carpet makes!
The installation was pretty straightforward overall, though I did hit a snag that delayed things for a couple of weeks. The carpet I received was meant for a manual transmission car, so it had an extra bulge of material where the shifter would normally go. Fortunately, the manufacturer was great to work with—they quickly identified the mix-up and sent out the correct carpet without any hassle.

I was surprised at how much the carpet had faded over time. One of the first things I did when I got the Tempest back in high school was replace the original carpet, which had seen better days. Even though the car was parked and kept under a cover for years, age still took its toll. The fading really drove home just how long the car had been sitting.
Look at the fade!!! The old carpet was put in ~1990 and has sat, out of the sun, since then.
