Turn Signal Switch
Motivation
For years, the turn signal lever was lose and it finally stopped working completely. I replaced it with a new switch. This was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be, until I found a tip online that helped tremendously. The difficult part was that the new connector (black, u-shaped) was too big to fit down the steering column. I tried to force it down the column, getting close but never through. The trick I discovered was to back the pins out of the new connector, slide them through the column, then push them back into the connector. You can see the pins backed out below. They should sell the part with the pins out.
