Starter

The starter had been acting up for quite some time, so I decided to replace it. I decided to go with a new, modern high-torque replacement since it was smaller, more powerful, and most importantly… lighter! The old starter weighed over 20lbs which was a bit unwieldy to work with while under the car, on your back, working over your head.

Replacing the starter was fairly straightforward. It attaches via two bolts and has two power cables to attach. The most challenging part was making sure the new starter’s “teeth” were aligned properly.
